Neutrophil Recovery with Zarzio

Administration Protocol

  • The National Comprehensive Cancer Network recommends administering Zarzio at least 24 hours after completion of cytotoxic chemotherapy to avoid potential interference with chemotherapy efficacy, with a standard recommendation of starting 24-72 hours after chemotherapy completion (Category 1 evidence) 1, 2, 3, 4
  • The American College of Physicians suggests that significant neutrophil enhancement occurs when G-CSF is administered starting 1 day after radiation exposure and continued for 14-21 consecutive days, with optimal outcomes when CSF therapy is initiated as early as possible 6

Dosing for Neutrophil Elevation

  • The National Comprehensive Cancer Network recommends a starting dose of 5 mcg/kg/day subcutaneously for standard chemotherapy-induced neutropenia 1, 2, 3, 5
