Duration of Bumetanide After CABG with Atrial Clip Placement
Post-CABG Monitoring and Management
- Continuous electrocardiogram monitoring is recommended for at least 48 hours after CABG in all patients to detect arrhythmias and other cardiac abnormalities, as suggested by the American Heart Association 1
- Hemodynamic monitoring, including assessment of fluid status, is critical during the first 48-72 hours post-CABG when most complications occur, according to the American College of Cardiology 2
- Transient new-onset atrial fibrillation is common 2-3 days after CABG, occurring in approximately one-third of patients, which may influence fluid management decisions, as reported by the European Society of Cardiology 3
Discontinuation Criteria
- Bumetanide should be discontinued when hemodynamic stability is achieved, as defined by stable blood pressure, heart rate, and cardiac output, as recommended by the American College of Cardiology 2
