Diclofenac Suppository Dosing for Pediatric Patients

Age-Specific Dosing Recommendations

  • The recommended dose of diclofenac suppository for pediatric patients is 0.5-1 mg/kg every 8 hours, as recommended by the American Society of Anesthesiologists 1
  • For children of all ages requiring rectal administration of diclofenac, the recommended dose is 0.5-1 mg/kg every 8 hours, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics 1

Administration Considerations

  • Do not administer more than 150 mg per dose site, as advised by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology 2
  • Diclofenac can be used as adjuvant therapy for pain and inflammation in children, as suggested by the American Academy of Pediatrics 3
