Treatment Duration and Monitoring

The American College of Physicians recommends treatment with lumateperone should be continued for at least 4-9 months after a satisfactory response, with longer duration recommended for patients with 2 or more episodes 1
Regular monitoring should begin 1-2 weeks after initiation of therapy and continue throughout treatment, assessing for treatment response and adverse effects, with treatment modification if adequate response is not achieved within 6-8 weeks 2
Patients should be monitored for emergence of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, especially during the first 1-2 months of treatment 2
