Dosing Regimens

  • The American Academy of Pediatrics guideline is not available, but a 2006 guideline recommends a higher-dose regimen of 0.2 mg/kg three times daily for infants, or 2 mg/kg/day divided four times daily for children 1 month to 12.7 years 1
  • A 2006 study showed 64.5% improvement in cough symptoms in infants at 0.2 mg/kg three times daily, and 100% improvement in children 1 month to 12.7 years at 2 mg/kg/day divided four times daily, although this was an uncontrolled study 1

Efficacy Evidence

  • No recent high-quality evidence is available to support the efficacy of domperidone in pediatric patients, but older uncontrolled studies suggest potential benefits 1
