Contraindications and Precautions

• The American Academy of Dermatology recommends ruling out active or history of thromboembolic disease, hepatic dysfunction or liver disease, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, and breast cancer or other hormone-sensitive malignancies before initiating norethindrone therapy 1
• Baseline pregnancy test and blood pressure monitoring are required before initiation of norethindrone, as recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology 1
