The American College of Cardiology recommends that sotalol be used with caution in patients with structural heart disease or ischemic heart disease, but it can be used with careful monitoring 2, 3

Special Clinical Scenarios

The American Heart Association suggests that electrical cardioversion is contraindicated in patients with digitalis toxicity or hypokalemia when using sotalol 1
