Storage and Handling

• Venofer should be administered as soon as possible after being removed from refrigeration, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics 1

Monitoring and Safety Precautions

• Resuscitation facilities should be available during administration, as anaphylaxis may occur with IV iron preparations, according to the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 2, 3, 4
• Monitor vital signs during and after infusion, as suggested by the American College of Physicians, with a moderate strength of evidence 6
